NEW Goat's Milk soap
Well, y'all I finally did it!
After 8 years of requests from shoppers of all ages and in all places, I finally caved and made a goat's milk soap. I'm gonna be honest with you, for the longest time, I was just being contrary and unwilling to give in to the hype, but there's really something to be said for the moisturizing capabilities of goats milk soap.
The proteins and fat in the milk give the lather in soap a gorgeous, silky and creamy texture, and the cleanse is wonderfully moisturizing.
This isn't the first milk soap I've made. I also have a coconut milk soap for the plant-based folks out there, and that's been my go-to for quite some time.
As I grow in my craft, I find myself exploring new ways to discern what is "sustainable" - really sustainable within communities vs. what we've been conditioned to believe is sustainable. So, over time I've allowed for some deviation away from 100% plant based, particularly in soaps. I've dipped my toe in with goat's milk, and I'm loving it so far!
While my natural soaps are overall mild and gentle when compared to commercial body washes (and a better choice for so many reasons), milk soaps in general are wonderful if you tend to have drier skin. The added moisture helps relieve irritation one may experience with chronic dry skin (like being a lil' itchy, dry skin bumps, etc.)
Those gentle and moisturizing properties make these bars wonderful for little ones, too, even teeny babies.
So if you are so inclined, or if you're one of my shoppers who've requested goat milk soap, this ones for you - go check it out!
